Izumiyama Porcelain Sometsuke Meshiwan

The body of this cup is made from Izumiyama stone, with extra weathered Shirakawa porcelain stone granules added into the body.

The iron in the Shirakawa stone creates a backdrop of iron spotting for the long armed shrimp underglaze brushwork.

Beautiful blush and texture on the naked stone of the foot. This item is listed as a rice bowl, but is equally comfortable containing other food items, tea, and other liquid refreshments.
