This is a coil and paddle built serving bowl with two ash glazes applied, then fired in my wood kiln. The tools
from the paddling process have left their marks on the interior and exterior, which alter the flow of the glazes
creating interesting cascades and swirls on the interior of the piece. The bottom of the piece retains the wood
figure pattern from the wooden bat it was constructed on.

The clay is white Karatsu clay blended with sandstone, shigaraki white clay, and porcelain.

This large serving bowl is ideal for large food items such as pasta dishes. Also, would make a beautiful Omogashi
bowl for tea ceremony, or with a makeshift lid could also make a very nice Hira Mizusashi for tea ceremony.
